Stephan Doitschinoff is a Brazilian born street artist turned gallery artist who has recently exhibited at the Black Market Gallery. I like some of his stuff. I would love to see the murals in real life.

vernacular photography

Lately I’ve been really into vernacular photography… basically amateur / found photography. there are several blogs on the subject. My favorite is this site:

Anonymity & Voyeurism…
These photos are often amazingly beautiful and shockingly honest.
I love technology, but, I have an aching fear that in 30 years, we won’t be able to go to a random antique store and pilfer through old photos. Instead, hard drives will crash, discs will be scratched, printer ink will smudge, and years will be lost…
Our memories are fragile. Take photos will film.

I’ve done all of these in the last 6 months. I found water soluble oil pastels and fell in love. We’ve been together ever since.
